Outreach to Special Population
The Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers (MACHC) is a leader and partner in building coalitions with its members and other local, regional, and state-based organizations. We frequently lead or join efforts to further access to health care services such as:
- Conduct outreach and educational services on HealthChoice,
Maryland’s managed care program;
- Establish Latino Health Coalitions for the States of Maryland
and Delaware;
- Team with the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA)
and announce “Help is Here Express”; and,
- Raise awareness of the elderly population; specifically, the
Medicare Part D program.
MACHC is the voice of communities in need to lead efforts that
positively impact access to health care services in Maryland and
Delaware.
Our membership of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)
provide access to quality, affordable health care to anyone,
regardless of their ability to pay and serve as the family doctor
and health care home for many communities. Through its successful
advocacy and communications efforts, MACHC is able to reach special
populations and has earned broad bipartisan support among federal,
state, and local policy-makers.
MACHC continues to work hard and is dedicated to promoting the
mission and accomplishments of all FQHCs in Maryland and Delaware.
Furthermore, we are successful in securing the support and resources
that will protect and strengthen existing health centers and allow
them to expand their reach to communities in need of the care they
provide. Our efforts and your assistance, together, enable us to
reach our vulnerable neighbors and special populations.
