Keynote Speaker Dr.Michelle Gourdine -Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services, Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. 
Dr. Gourdine is a board-certified Pediatrician who graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and a Senior Associate in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
A leading communicator of health information, Dr. Gourdine is a frequent guest on local public affairs television and radio shows. Her practical advice has made her a sought-after speaker,and has won her the trust of thousands of Marylanders. Her entire career is devoted to providing insight on how to live longer, healthier, and better. She is a regular contributor to Channel Magazine and is authoring a book on African American wellness.
Dr. Gourdine most recently served as Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and chief public health physician for the state of Maryland. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Secretary, Dr. Gourdine served as Health Officer and Director of the Baltimore County Health Department for a decade.
Kathie Baldwin – Director of Clinical Quality, Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers and National Quality Faculty, HRSA
Kathie Baldwin has served as Cluster Leadership staff for the Southeast Atlantic Cluster of the Health Disparities Collaborative (HDC), a national initiative of the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). She came to the HDC with over a decade of healthcare management experience in Primary Care, Pediatrics, and various specialties including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Rheumatology and Psychiatry. In addition, is responsible for the administratively responsible for oversight and development of the Conitnuous Quality Initiative for MACHC. Specially, she is responsible for managing clinical quality activities for the association through identifying clinical quality indicators, formulating a clinical advisory group, providing direct technical assistance to our clinical providers, creating a clinical strategic plan for association, and identifying new opportunities in specific clinical focus areas.
Kathie has a long history of working with community groups to help them access low cost healthcare and is proud to serve as an active member on the National Patient Advocate Coalition, an organization whose mission is bringing quality healthcare to underserved communities.
Michael (Mike) Holton – Manager, RSM McGladrey Healthcare Services Practice
Mike’s background involves approximately 30 years specializing in the financial/operations management area of the community health center industry. Experience includes executive management positions in two community health centers, five years with the NC Primary Care Association and nine years with the National Association of Community Health Centers as Director of Financial Management Assistance.
Michael holds degrees in Senior Accounting and Business Administration from Hardbarger’s College of Business.
Gary Reiss - Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SUNRx, Inc.
As COO of SUNRx, Mr . Reiss oversees daily operations, including product development. Gary has held the position of COO with several private and public health and medical information management companies during the past 15 years. He was the COO of I-trax, Inc. (DMX), a technology driven population health Management Company from 1999 to 2004. In 1998 Gary served as the Chief Operating Officer of EduNeering, Inc., an educational technology company, where his responsibilities included positioning EduNeering as a web provider and portal. From 1995 to 1998, Gary served as the Chief Operating Officer of Allscripts, Inc. (DMX), a one billion dollar health care information and implementation publicly traded company, where he was responsible for all operations and implementations. And from 1992 to 1995, Gary was an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Physician Dispensing Systems, a company he founded and which was later acquired by Allscripts, Inc.
Dr. Marie Savard M.D – Internist, Author and nationally recognized speaker
Marie Savard M.D. attended University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed a residency at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Savard is board certified in the area of Internal Medicine. Dr. Savard is also Senior Medical Consultant and News Medical Contributor to ABC News. Dr. Savard has been a health columnist for Women's Day magazine, technical advisor to the United Nation's Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and Senior Medical Consultant to Lifetime Television's Strong Medicine.
Dr. Savard is a frequent speaker and spokesperson on behalf of a wide array of health issues, featured in print, radio and television. Her appearances include: ABC News/Good Morning America and Healthy Life, The Oprah Show, The Today Show and The Early Show.
Dr. David L. Stewart, MD, MPH - Associate Professor & Chair, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Family & Community Medicine
Dr. Stewart obtained his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He holds a Masters of Public Health, Clinical Preventive Medicine, from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health/Johns Hopkins Hospital. His research interests include Hypertension and Diabetes in African Americans; Psychiatric Patients with Medical Problems; Somatization; Stress-Related Diseases; Smoking Cessation; Urban Individuals and Families; Undergraduate Primary Care Education.
Kathy Stroh, MS, RD, CDE - Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Educator with the Delaware Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, Bureau of Chronic Diseases, Delaware Division of Public Health
Ms. Stroh provides technical assistance to community health centers’ staff, monitors performance of diabetes educators and develops/implements education programs related to all aspects of diabetes prevention and care. She is involved in many state and national initiatives related to comprehensive diabetes care, including worksite diabetes education, depression and diabetes in women, nutrient indicators for chronic disease, accuracy of reporting on death certificates, health literacy and targeted diabetes prevention efforts. She has presented at state and national conferences, including the American Association of Diabetes Educators Annual Meetings, the National Prevention Summit, the Delaware Diabetes Expo, the Delaware Women's Wellness Expo, the Delaware Dietetic Association, the CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation Conference, the Obesity and Overweight in Women Conference (Delaware Office of Women’s Health) and the Eastern Evaluation Society. She is presently Chair of the Public Health Specialty Practice Group of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and on the Executive Committee of CDC’s Women’s Health Council.
H. Duane Taylor, JD, MPP, MCPH - Chief Operating Officer, Mid-Atlantic Association of Community Health Centers
Duane has over 12 years of professional experience in health care financing, operations, health policy/legislative strategy, management, and health informatics. He holds a master's degree in Public Policy and a master's certificate in Public Health with a concentration in Health Care Financing from the University of Chicago. He also has a Juris Doctorate with a concentration in Health Law from the American University's School of Law. Mr. Taylor is currently pursuing his doctorate in Public Health at George Washington University.
